Jen Shepard is a multidisciplinary artist and design professional based in New York City. Originally from Houston, Texas, she maintains an active practice in painting, sculpture, and installation alongside her work as a creative director and designer. Jen holds an MFA in Painting and Printmaking from the University of Texas at Tyler and an MS in Communications Design from Pratt Institute.

As an art director, Jen has worked with leading agencies and companies including Saatchi & Saatchi, The Wall Street Journal, and Whole Foods Market. She is the founder and Creative Director of Collector’s Eye, a boutique design studio supporting artists, curators, and galleries. She currently teaches at Pratt Institute and has also taught at CUNY and Hofstra University.

Jen is also an occasional writer and curator. She has curated exhibitions at Pratt and at independent galleries. Additionally, she is an alumnus writer for The Coastal Post, a now-defunct blog focused on contemporary art.

Jen’s artwork is held in the Morgan Lehman Gallery flat files, the Fidelity Mutual Corporate Collection, and numerous private collections across the U.S. and Europe. She has exhibited widely throughout the country.

Jen has participated in residencies at DNA Residency, hosted by Freight and Volume (2020–2025), The Wassaic Project (2016, 2018, 2023), Vermont Studio Center (2019), and the School of Visual Arts (2009).

When Jen is not working on one of her beloved creative projects you can find her experimenting in the kitchen, camping and hiking, watching scary movies, or hanging out with her rescue “void” Ruthie.
